REVIEW: Obey Your Body Radiance-Repair Peeling Gel

So, this weekend I went to the Vitality Show with my friend Becky, what fun that was! There was so much stuff there that I really wanted to buy but I was trying to be good. It was going really well until I bought this (and the £8 worth of cheese I bought from the Cheshire Cheese Company - so good!).

Radiance Repair Peeling Gel is supposed to cleanse and exfoliate while promoting skin renewal. It contains dead sea minerals and moisture-enhancing Gluconolactone. All you do is massage one pump worth in to any area of your face for a minute, wipe off any residue and then moisturise. You need about one pump for each area of your face eg. one pump per cheek and you can do it two or three times a week.

The woman demonstrated the gel on me and my friend and we were both astonished by the results; you rub a tiny amount in to an area skin and all of your dead skin balls up as you gently rub so you can wipe it off. I'd never usually spend £35 on one product like this but I really imagined myself loving it as I'm one of those people who really likes to see things happening. I'd loved to have posted a picture of what it looks like but it's a bit gross so I spared you :)

There is a lot of scepticism about these products on review sites like makeupalley.com (even though it still has 4.4 out of 5 stars on there) because people believe that it is the product balling up rather than your dead skin but even those people can't deny how smooth it makes your skin feel.

I have to say that when I got home I immediately tried it on my boyfriend who has really sensitive, badly clogged up skin and even after he had washed his face and rubbed it dry with a towel, what peeled off his face when I used this was disgusting. I on the other hand, have average skin which just needs a bit of pepping up and there was a big difference in what came off, my results where much less and less "dirty". To me this pretty much proves that it's not just the product coming off otherwise I'd expect our results to be the same. After just a few minutes we were both left with silky, fresh faces and there were no bad reactions even with my boyfriend's sensitive skin. To be honest, I wish I could cover my whole body in this so it's a shame that it's pretty pricy!

Did anyone else go to the Vitality Show? What did you think?
My friend has put our pictures up on her blog if you want to have a look at what we saw!

bareMinerals Big and Beautiful Eyeliner 0.35g in Plum,
bareMinerals Double-Ended Precision Eye Brush

I picked up this set from the feelunique.com outlet so it was a bargain price especially as I also had a discount code. I haven't tried it much yet as it only just arrived but I'm quite excited. I tried the lip gloss (as that was easy since I had already done my makeup) and I have to say I quite like it. I'm REALLY not a fan of sticky lip gloss which this is, if I'm being honest but in a weird way it felt really soft when I brushed it on, not too tacky. So we shall see about that, I think it would look nice over the top of things as it's not really pigmented even though it looks very vibrant. I'm also surprisingly pleased with the eye liner that comes in this set. It's in a "plum" colour which I wasn't sure about but actually seems really wearable and smooth to apply. The blush looks really "summery" so I'm not sure how much wear I'll get out of that but maybe that will shock me too; it's looking that way so far. I'm certainly looking forward to trying out all of this over the next few weeks (if I'm not too busy with my dissertation to even think about wearing make up!) :)

I also picked up this TINY Lily Lolo (shorter than my thumb!) brush at the same time as I felt my bigger brush needed a bit of a hand on some areas of my face when I do ever wear foundation. The bristles are really soft and the description promises that none will fall out when I use it. Again, only time will tell!

PS, I'm off to The Vitality Show on Saturday, really looking forward to seeing what I find there!

Spring Beauty Wish List

1. I've been meaning to get a Chubby Stick Intense for a while now, since I love the normal Chubby Stick so much. I'll probably be getting a couple when I visit my Mom after finishing uni, I can get them for around 10€ so it's worth the wait!
2. I love the colour of these GHD's from the new GHD Candy Collection but I unfortunately don't think I'll be getting them as my current GHDs are in perfect working order :(
3. I had a sniff of this Marc Jacobs perfume in this month's Cosmopolitan magazine and it's lovely. My boyfriend approved too so I'll probably also be buying this for myself when I visit my Mom.
4. I'm LOVING the smell of coconut at the moment and this light weight milk body lotion seems like the perfect thing for silky smooth legs this spring/summer.
5. I'm desperate to try this new mascara from L'Oreal, as I have said here before, I love their Million Lashes range but this new brush looks awesome so I think I'll be testing it when I next run out of mascara.

Has anyone tried any of this stuff? If so - What do you think? x

Review: E.l.f. Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint in Rose

Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint in Rose
My silly face wearing it :P
Ok, so I'm doing another e.l.f. review - some of the stuff I got from there lately has had a lot of use so it's worth writing about even if two posts in a row! Other stuff I got, not so much but we won't talk about that now.
This lip tint/balm is one of two I got but they're so similar, I'll just talk show you one. This "Rose" lip tint comes in a sleek little tube like a normal lip balm although it has a slightly thinner end than most plain average balms, I'm guessing that's so you don't get colour all around your mouth! The other colour I bought was Cherry which is virtually the same as Rose except a little bit more browner than Rose which is pinkish. They're both perfectly good at moisturising and while it's not THE best, I like it enough to have one in my handbag all of the time which is my seal of approval.

The "tint" leaves a little to be desired as it doesn't massively have staying power but it is quite pigmented for something like this. Overall, it's fine for day time use when you don't need anything high impact; it's what I expect for something that costs £3.50 (when there are no discounts on) and they taste slightly sweet so, there is nothing I can complain about really... It also claims to be "100% mineral based with No Parabens, No Preservatives and No Chemical Dyes" and has some SPF which sounds pretty good to me!

In other news, I'm really fighting the urge to buy new clothes! I just feel like I want everything I see even though I hardly like it/don't need it so my brain won't justify it. What do you do when you feel like that?!

Review: e.l.f. Translucent Matte Powder

Much better/cleaner pictures on the product page: here!

I picked up this face powder a few weeks ago when e.l.f. had a great discount going on. I'd never really tried a powder like this before as I'd not been so bothered about shine but I've come to notice it a bit more since using a BB cream instead of a matte mineral foundation.
As with all e.l.f products it's a really good price and since this is from their studio range, the packaging is rather sleek, it's in a handy little compact with a mirror and separate space for sponge; perfect for chucking in your bag! The powder's really light weight so it's perfect to just pat on over any make up you already have on and isn't noticeable at all, apart from making your skin less shiny! Because I'm not a fussy makeup person it's not something I reach for every day but I have been using it a lot and will probably buy it again when I eventually run out. I'm also eying up their tone correcting powder to buy next, I'll let you know what I think if I get it!

Review: Elemis Loving Lips: Quenching Lip Balm

This lip balm is the free gift with Cosmopolitan Magazine for this month and I really liked it so I thought it deserved a post! As a gift, it's pretty good being worth around £8 and there's also two moisturisers to choose from if you don't fancy a lip balm but personally I can never resist them.

It's a full size 10ml product but I've found that unless I'm quite generous with it, it doesn't really feel like I've applied anything so it might not last long. That's slightly disappointing but it may just be because I like to slather my lips in whatever when they're feeling dry! I'm also not keen on the applicator but the product itself is really effective at conditioning my lips. It has a slightly minty smell and is really smoothing without being wet or greasy which is definitely a plus. It's aimed at "teens to 20s" and contains lovely things like organic peppermint oil and vitamin E - all from a British company.
I'm not sure I'd pay £8 for it but definitely go and pick up Cosmo for a free one!
